Can’t approve/moderate comments! Need urgent help!

  • I have been running my wordpress blog for about a month now and everything has been working fine. Yesterday (Jan 5 08) I was moderating my comments as usual and, for some reason, I can’t approve a comment and make it appear on the post. I haven’t changed anything with the code etc. and seeing how I am an intermediate coder I am a little confused as to what I should do.

    For now, I have set the discussion settings so that all comments are posted without me approving them first but I would like to moderate the comments and approve those that I want etc.

    Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • It does sound as though something has changed because otherwise you would still be able to moderate.

    What version are you running? What do you see in the moderate comments list view? Can you approve from the dashboard widget?

    this sounds similar to my problem. I have one showing under pending but nothing is there.

    If you click does it show you the post at all? do you keep getting emails telling you the post needs to be moderated?

    Paula, redownload and install 2.8. You may be missing files.

    hmmmmmm.. it was happening before 2.8

    Found this temporary solution from a guy here in the forum:

    Edit the comment in question, then select “Approved” from the status menu.. and its approved> Obviously its not a final solution, but its a temporary one!

    You should probably stop updating everyone else’s posts and just make one for yourself with the full history of what’s going on.

    When did this start (what version of WP). What plugins you’re using. etc etc.
