  • I can’t even get the authentication to work!

When I press the “Authenticate with your Google account” button, I get forwarded to the Google Accounts site, with a banner “We are unable to verify the name associated with this application because it runs on your computer, as opposed to on a website. We recommend you do not allow access unless you trust the application.”

If I try ignore the warning, my site still won’t have the authentication. ??

    Hi,
Same problem with message in french:
“Impossible de valider le nom associé à cette application, car celle-ci est exécutée sur votre ordinateur, et non sur un site Web. Nous vous recommandons de refuser l’accès de cette application, à moins que vous ne la considériez comme fiable.”
It says that the curent program is excuted on my computer and not on a web server, which is not the case, it is excuted on a web server!

If i use the authenticate button, there is no authentification.

    :-((

Same here, but the message is in Dutch:
“We kunnen de naam voor deze app niet verifi?ren omdat de app wordt uitgevoerd op uw computer en niet op een website. We raden u aan geen toegang te verlenen tenzij u de app vertrouwt.”
I enjoy studying computer messages in different languages, but I would much rather see the dashboard work…

By the way, @google, we are not trying to verify a NAME, the name is fine, we are trying to verify an APP.

    Same problem here..

I tried to contact Yoast via twitter yesterday, but still no answer yet.

I’m having the same problem as michaelkallweitt – very frustrating!

Please update the plugin to the latest version. Does that solve your problem?

Same problem here with new update version 5.2.4
Every where in dashboard we can see on top : Please configure your Google Analytics settings!
In previews version was working fine.
Also we try to revoke access from google Account Permissions but still the same issue…
Also we delete cookie and temp files but still the same issue…
We try every thing but Authenticate is showing the blank page for 1 second and after that it’s close instant.
Also we try to paste code in “? Paste your Google code here:”, but not working
Also we try to enable and disable the plugin…
Thank you and waiting for the next update…

Hi TacoVerdo – I’ve just updated to latest plugin and now when I click to allow access I get taken to this page:

    https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/approval?as=-1a33d47ea6553d5e&hl=en&pageId=none&xsrfsign=APsBz4gAAAAAVI9eNmnbwmXhk3QzVwwx4RwmLZIST_Oc

    With this message displayed:

Please copy this code, switch to your application and paste it there:
    4/6_ixm-zyz4FCgL4Xhw3IVM8stczlIBCjS-7LrLiXjzM.gssMl0od304WgrKXntQAax1S_NyflAI

I have no clue as to how to carry out those instructions and am a bit mystified as to why. Can you take a look please?

    Thanks, Sarah

It gets even worse for me since I get a white screen instead of my settings panel..

i get the same error even with latest version downloaded on March 2015 !

Hi muhammadomar, that authentication screen SHOULD show up now. What was missing before, was the place to paste the code but you should see that when you are on the window for your website’s WP Dashboard. Just copy the code and paste it in and hit enter and the plugin will remember the settings. (It kept forgetting them for a while but that bug got fixed). You then just need to choose what Analytics profile view you want to associate with the website and save.

the same problem. cant authenticate with google in the last version !!!

the same problem here, i copied the code from google and no response
