  • I have the same problem as others, says saved but noting happens then says go to settings.

Come on guys, is this being fixed?# or what?

Yet another update to both WordPress and the plugin and still it won’t save the authentication after selecting GA profile…

What’s worse is it appears to have authenticated to a UA-profile that I don’t even recognise so no idea why that is – 62716086.

Hello Yoast?? I realy dont want to switch to another plugin :/ Please help.

It’s become awfully quiet around here. How about an update there, devs.

Following this thread. Having the same issue.

Same here. I started my WP-site 2 days ago and tried Google analytics for the first time today so I’m very confused. For me, even manually entering the UA code won’t work – do everyone get the same?

As a side note, I’ve also been trying to get another plugin, “Google Analytics Dashboard for WP” to work but that also fails. Logging in and administration all my google analytics sites says this specific UA code “Tracking has noot been installed”. However my WP-site has the correct code on all pages.

Is it a general problem with WordPress or what?

Also, my last question is – should it really take 24 hours for Google Analytics to work, or at once?

    Same here…
You have +1.000.000 active installations, and can′t fix an issue in days???
    Holy cow

Same here on two separate WP installs today.

The first is a simple single site. The other is multisite. Same issue on both.

Just to reiterate: once you do the ‘authenticate with Google’ and paste in the auth code, there is no drop-down to select a GA account.

This is logged in the console:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'event' of undefined

    admin.php?page=yst_ga_settings, line 255

    Which is:
    google.maps.event.addDomListener(window, 'load', initialize);

Have been having/ watching this issue and see no resolution in sight. Spent a lot of time on this a few months ago on one of sites and resorted to manually inputting the code to get it to work. Now, since the problem is back again, I think it’s time to find another plugin. If I have to go to GA to get my stats because I had to put the code in manually, I might as well use a much simpler plugin and be done with it.

@karlwolfschtagg (#68). It’s a problem with the plugin itself, not WordPress. I’ve done some troubleshooting myself and I’ve found that the plugin is still sending data to GA but fails on the WordPress admin side of things. I finally resorted to removing the “GA by Yoast” plugin altogether and installed the “Google Analytics Dashboard for WP” plugin which, more or less, works the same way at least as far as authentication goes and it authenticates and works fine. No problems.

This isn’t the first time an update to “GA by Yoast” has messed up something with the plugin itself (these things happen occasionally no matter what the plugin is, I understand this) but this is the first time the developers have not kept us updated on the progress of the fix.

Oh, and yes, GA updates it’s analytics (for your site) every 24 hours, not in real time. By what I understand, there’s a new GA API that includes “real time” updating but it’s still in beta and is “invite only” for current GA users. Until it’s released to the public we’re stuck with our GA stats being one day behind. At least that’s what I understand.

@kirkm Ok, thanks for the clarification. My GADfWP plugin is finally working now, with a 24 hour delay.

    Ditto to authentication issues.

I am having the same issue with inability to authenticate or even manually enter the UA (but I WANT the dashboard). My browser is IE 11 and I am running a brand-new install of WordPress. Not sure about the PHP version.

Not a browser issue. Not a plug-in conflict (all other plug-ins deactivated), nor a theme conflict. Definitely a problem with the plug-in itself. For now I have the live site running an older version and tracking is working. The dev site with the latest plug-in update is broken.
