Sorry to hear you’ve been encountering issues during setup, and thanks for sharing the troubleshooting steps you’ve undertaken. To troubleshoot potential plugin conflicts please try the below:

    1. Open up a browser incognito window and login to your site
    2. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    3. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
    4. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
    5. Attempt to setup Site Kit once more

You can exit troubleshooting mode afterwards.

If the above fails please share your Site Health information privately using this form and we can investigate.

Thanks for sharing, we’ve received that now and I’ll discuss this with the team and report back to you here.

In the meantime can you try and delete the plugin in full before then installing and activating once more from the WordPress repository?

Just following up on this. Can you inform us whether you’ve changed your admin URL at any stage, before or after attempting to setup Site Kit? If so please share details of this using the same form you used previously.

@insomnia88 just a quick follow up that on our side it looks like you are using an outdated OAuth to try to connect to the Site Kit service or perhaps the developer version which shouldn’t be used in production, hence this error.

You mentioned you were using a very early version before, so perhaps this is impacting the setup process for you.

Could you attempt to deactivate and delete Site Kit, and then reinstall it anew? Please let us know if you are able to proceed.

    @jamesosborne No, I havn’t changed it.

@reneesoffice I deactivated/removed and reinstalled it with this error before.

Maybe this is also some problem with my provider since I can use site kit without any problem on another server/provider.
But then again it’s weird because I had an application at this provider with a running google site kit. But I set it up back then in early stages. I bet when I disable it I am not able to reactivate it again since I can’t get through the setup.

Thanks for the update, that’s interesting. Can you share your current hosting provider an whether you have a CDN active?

Just following up with you on this one. Your site doesn’t seem to be setup on the Site Kit authentication services.

As you used the plugin in it’s earlier form can you try and setup the plugin from another WordPress administrator account? During setup it would be interesting to find out if you can proceed when using another Google account to verify your site, not the one you used previously.

As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
