• I piggy-backed on another user’s question and his situation was resolved but mine was not, so I’m starting my own topic.

A site that has been set up to save backups to the client’s Google Drive for a long time has suddenly become disconnected and I can’t reauthorize it. This is the error I receive when clicking the UpDraft link to reauthorize:

    400. That’s an error.

    Error: redirect_uri_mismatch

Of course there is more info shown, but after pasting it I deleted much of it as it is too sensitive for this forum. However, I did check the settings in the Google API Console, and the authorized redirect URIs are identical (I tried to paste the URI fresh the Updraft admin page to Google and it replied “duplicate URIs are not allowed.” Then I double checked in the Google json file I downloaded when I last updated the setup in 3/2017 and the Google client ID, client secret, and redirect URI matched the settings in Updraft. All themes, plugins and the WordPress core are at their latest versions.

So the redirect URI DOES in fact match, but something is going wrong between Updraft and Google. Much gratitude for any help you can offer.

    Hi,

Can you try to wipe out UpdraftPlus settings in ‘Advance Tools’ tab and then try to re-authenticate again? Do you still get the same issue?

    Kind Regards,

@bcrodua you are awesome. I thought to myself, I haven’t entered anything in the Advanced Settings but I’ll try to wipe them anyway…not knowing I would find a Wipe Settings button waiting for me. Once I saw the “settings wiped” confirmation I went to the remote storage settings and this time I did not encounter the 404 Google was giving me. Just did a full backup and it appears to be uploading successfully as I write. Thank you so much!
