• I’m a first-time WordPress user, and I’ve just started setting up my website. On my Contact page, I have added a contact form and I assume I need to update my admin email address in order for the contact form to work. The problem is that, when I go to my user profile and change the email address, I do not receive the confirmatory email. The user profile continues to show the section as shown in this screen capture (details redacted):

Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • The fact that the email doesn’t arrive could be related to your hosting, especially how emails are sent from there. If you were to send the emails via SMTP through your mail hoster, the likelihood of it arriving would be higher. There is also a plugin for this from the same developer as your form plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/

Alternatively you could change the admin email directly in the database. To do this, you would have to log into the phpmyadmin of your hosting and change the line “admin_email” in the options table. If necessary, your hosting support can help you with this.

    Hi @arthurtwosheds
Sorry for the trouble. This happened because of an email delivery issue. You may check the SPAM folder. If nothing is found here then you could set up an SMTP plugin and integrate with SendGrid (FREE plan).

Then give it another try and let me know how that goes! ??

Thanks for the replies. I finally got it working with the Google Workspace / Gmail Mailer in WP Mail SMTP. I can’t help feeling it could be made simpler!
