    Hi,
    I set up the WP form SMTP through g suite.
    it works great.

    However, the “from email” is greyed.
    my Email address is written, but I would like that it is sent from another email address.

    Can you help me fix this?

    I apologize for any confusion. Gmail mailer does not allow custom ‘From Email’. It always sends emails from the google account you’ve authorized, so the ‘From Email’ option is disabled and greyed out.

    If you’d like to send emails from custom ‘From Email’, please consider switching to other mailers such as Pepipost, Sendinblue etc, these mailers requires your domain verification instead of authorizing your personal mailbox account and you will be able to send emails from your domain-specific email addresses.

    While it probably wouldn’t be a simple addition, isn’t it true that you could leverage the sendAs method in the Gmail API?

    @sanzeeb3 How do i change email though? i’m stuck with an address that no longer exist!

    When you’re using a Gmail mailer, all the emails are sent from your authorized Gmail account, even when the ‘From Email’ in WP Mail SMTP settings is something that doesn’t exist.

    hello, thanks for your reply.
    The authorized gmail account no longer exists so that authorization is not worth anything any more.
    I had to select a different mailer. Save, and select again gmail for it to be cleared. It’s not very intuitive. I think it’s a workaround. But got the job done.
    If i’m not allowed to remove that email address then i am not able to authorize a new working gmail address. that can’t be.

    I apologize for the confusion on this. You can disconnect the existing Gmail account by clicking on the ‘Remove Connection’ button and authorize new account. Instead of changing the ‘From Email’ by switching the mailer, authenticating the account is recommended else you might still face issues with email delivery.
