    Hi,

Sorry for bothering you all, I’ve stumbled on something that I can’t seem to figure out nor do I find anything on the internet to help me solve this issue.

So basically I built the website yesterday and figured I’d do the SEO part today. However, I can’t change the meta tags and description on the homepage. Whenever I click edit on the website I just get into “edit tempelate” and there’s no buttons there to use for my “All in one SEO” plugin.

I’m well aware of how to use the plugin since I use it on my other website that I built in divi. However, this site is built with the standard gutenberg (I think it’s called that) block builder. And I’m not too familiar with it.

I had issues earlier as well with trying to make a new page and all that happened was that I got into the tempelate builder whenver I tried to edit the new page (ended up creating a one page site instead). So I’ve probably done something wrong with the templates.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

To clarify, I go to the site (logged in as admin), I click “edit site”. After that I get into this screen..

Whenever I press the top left logo I get to this..

Do you have an “Edit Page” link in the frontend? Then you would be able to edit the homepage if it is a page.

If the homepage is not a page, then it is built from the start page template of your theme. I would recommend that you contact the support team for the SEO plugin you are using in this case: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/all-in-one-seo-pack/

I think the issue is I have built the site in the theme editor and not created a page?

Yes, that can also be the problem. Create the start page as a page and not via a template. Then you should also be able to use the plugins intended for this in the page.

Yup, I just find it really confusing as how I would copy the site from the template to the page. Or how I would build the site from a page and then import multiple templates like footer/header and then how do create a content block..

You have to do this manually. So create a new page and then copy the content 1:1 from the template. Except of course for the header and footer and any other global elements that are contained in your standard template for pages.

In pages, you do not create a block for the output of content but enter the content directly. You have a variety of blocks available for this, including the classic paragraph block.

So, I create a new page. Go to top right settings menu, change the template to blank template with header & footer.

Then I go and edit the site as it looks right now and copy all of the content between footer & header.

So this is how I should do it in the future then I guess instead of building the whole site in the template.
