Can’t change the template of a project post

I’ve been migrating my site to the Twenty Twenty-Four theme and am slowly getting the hang of it. I’ve got three four project posts published already

Here’s the problem. I created a custom template for single posts using the site editor because there are things I do not like about the theme’s “Single Posts” template.

For posts, it’s easy enough to edit the post and use the Template settings to switch the template. I can also go into All Posts and do a quick edit on the post to change the template.

But neither of these options appear of the portfolio post type. So I have no idea how to change their template.

Am I missing something?
