Hi, I just went to my timeline to change some text in a couple of announcements and when I save the changes I get a message like below and change aren’t applied.

Fatal error: Call to a member function getTimeStamp() on a non-object in /home/content/u/n/d/undisputedftp/html/JamesEPepper/wp/wp-content/plugins/timeline-express/lib/helpers.php on line 142

I’m terrible at php and have no idea how to fix this. I didn’t change anything other then the text in the body of the announcement. Also if it helps, I am using my text and html in the Announcement Custom Excerpt that I installed last week with the help of Evan and everything was working perfect.

    Thanks much for your help.

    Hi loiruca,

What is the date that you are saving when you hit this error? Also, after you updated the post – what was the date in the date field? It sounds like the date format isn’t storing properly when the post gets saved.

    Thanks,
    Evan

I did not change the date at all, only tried editing some text in the body. Because my timeline starts at an earlier date, I set them to January 1977 and each announcements is set 10 days apart from this date. I has been working fine so far, never had problems with it. My dates have been set like this since I set up the timeline and never had issues. Could it possibly be due to the latest update?

I will take a look and see if I can replicate the issue – but have not seen the issue before. What is the date format that you are trying to save?

    Thanks,
    Evan

Like i mentioned, I did not change the date or the format at all, it has been set this way since the beginning and never had issues. I’m using the format set by the plugin: January 20, 1977 for example. I did not change the date or anything else in the plugin. All i want is to edit some text in the body.

    Thanks!

I am not sure where the errors are coming from – the errors seemed to have cleared up for me and another user. I will have to continue to investigate.

    Thanks,
    Evan

Hi Evan, unfortunately I’m still getting the error message when trying to save it. I clear the cache… even tried in another browser, but still broken. Thanks!

HI Evan, I just emailed you again. Thanks!

    Hi,

was there any answer to this? I’m having the same issue. Although the annoucement does save the custom excerpt on the page (created using the “Enable html content” guide) does not save,

    Thanks,
    Abi

There is an issue when the date is stored. I have not been able to track down the issue – as each person who is utilizing the plugin and having issues seems to have been able to get things resolved on there own.

It’s possible that the date format you are using is not supported by the plugin.

    Thanks,
    Evan
