Can’t choose page template

    I’m having trouble with this. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong place or something.

    Basically, I want to make an “archives” page, so I’m using the information I found on this page in the Codex: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Pages#Archives_with_Content

    It makes perfect sense. I created the template and the page, but the menu to choose the page template is nowhere to be found.

    To make this even weirder, it *was* there. It worked fine and the archive list on the page I made showed up on the site just fine. I added some content to the page, checked it out, and the archive list was gone. I went back into WP and the option to choose the page template was gone. And it was still gone when I tried to make a new page.

    Am I screwing something up?

    Yet again, I’ve solved my own question. Not sure how, but the header stuff at the top of the template got deleted. I replaced it and now things are working. Doh!
