Can’t close the search overlay

    The search overlay will not close. Here are the steps to reproduce:

    1. On main header menu, click search icon
    2. The full screen search overlay appears, now click “Close” button, this should work and will close the overlay
    3. Click search icon on the menu again
    4. The overlay appears, now click “Close” button again… The overlay attempts to close but immediately reappears.

    System Info:
    Windows 10, WordPress 5.6, Divi theme with Divi builder, Browsers tested: Edge, Chrome, Firefox

    Hello,

    Thanks for using FSMS plugin.
    In your situation, their is a conflict between the plugin and the theme.
    You have to remove the plugin or ask the support of Divi to give you a solution since the event on the search icon is handled by custom.unified.js in the Divi theme.

    I don’t work with paid themes/plugins so I don’t know Divi but I think that their is another search input that expands when the search icon is clicked and the scripts are in conflict.

    Closing since not a plugin issue.

    Hi LebCit,
    Thank you for the quick reply. The issue is not related to Divi. I installed the plugin on a new, blank WordPress installation using the Twenty Twentyone theme and the problem is still there. If you open the search a second time and try to close it, it does not close and instead keeps popping up.

    I’ve rewritten the main js file without jQuery only vanilla JS and everything is working great. Thanks for pointing that out. I’ll upload the update in one or two days (I’m removing as much jQuery as i can for now).
