I am still new and wanted to back up my files before I updated to WP 4.1, so I went with UpdraftPlus. I am trying to back up to Google Drive and keep getting this error message :No refresh token was received from Google. This often means that you entered your client secret wrongly, or that you have not yet re-authenticated (below) since correcting it. Re-check it, then follow the link to authenticate again. Finally, if that does not work, then use expert mode to wipe all your settings, create a new Google client ID/secret, and start again. Error: invalid_client.

I did wipe all settings and retry once and got the same message, so I must have done something wrong but I can’t figure out what. Can someone help me set it up so I can back up to Google Drive? Thanks.

    Hi,

At what stage do you get this message?

Have you seen the setup guide? https://updraftplus.com/support/configuring-google-drive-api-access-in-updraftplus/

    Best wishes,
    David

Hi, I get it at the very beginning after I enter my id and key. I even wiped it (per the instructions) and set up another project with a new id and key. I entered those and got the same message. I did follow the setup guide and everything went fine from the Google end, and I got an id and key displayed. I copied and pasted and rechecked the numbers. I will try it again and report back. It is probably something from my end, but I don’t know enough to troubleshoot. Thanks.

I’m also getting an error after following the setup guide.

    There error is:

    401. That’s an error.

    Error: invalid_client

    no support email

    Request Details
    That’s all we know.

    OOps I see it now.

The set email is not a field like you’d expect, it’s a dropdown:

On the consent screen – just below where my screenshot cuts off – click that dropdown and select your email address:
