I am getting the following error, previously the plugin worked fine but some days ago the connection got lost. When I tried to reset the plugin I am not able to reconfigure it any more:

Je site is er misschien niet klaar voor om Site Kit te gebruiken

Het lijkt erop dat je site een technisch probleem hebt met het aanvragen van gegevens bij Google services.

Thanks for reaching out @dreejt. It sounds like there is something either a host level or with your plugin environment blocking communication between your site and the Site Kit service. So we can determine more on this, please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. Do you see any warnings or errors when checking yourSite Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status), which differs from your Site Health information requested above? Such errors may include REST endpoint references.
    3. Have you been able to set up Site Kit on this site previously, or on any other sites on the same hosting platform?

I also noticed you may be a Cloudflare user. Based on the information we receive from the above, we can perform some checks with your configurations or any possible addons you may have enabled.

We also have a guide on this added to the plugin website.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

    Hi James,

Thank you for your quick response. I submitted the Google forms.
I don’t see any critical errors in my Site Health related to this. I did use sitekit on this website for the last couple of months, also on other sites but I just noticed that other websites (on the same server) also lost their connections. The message I got:

    Data error in Analytics
    Invalid JSON response

Thanks for the update @dreejt. In that case, what I suspect is happening is that the block you’re encounter may be based on a hosting configuration, in particular an IPv6 block (where your other sites may also be hosted). To determine more on this, can you perform the below checks, or ask your hosting provider to do the same:
    curl -4 -I https://sitekit.withgoogle.com
The above will check the status if communication over IPv4
    curl -6 -I https://sitekit.withgoogle.com
The above will check the status if communication over IPv6

If there is a block, I suspect this will be over IPv6 only, with a 500 error. If you can share the responses to the above checks I can then check this further with the team.

If you prefer to simply share your IPv6 address I can also request a check with the team on this.

Many thanks for sharing. Based on this information it looks like you can connect with the Site Kit service over both IPv6 and IPv4. Based on this, please follow the steps below:

    1. Login to your live site from a Chrome browser incognito window.
    2. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    3. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
    4. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google“.
    5. Attempt to setup Site Kit once more

If the same occurs, please share the following:

    1. Your current location. I ask as Google services are blocked in some regions.
    2. On the other sites where you’re encountering the same, do you see any errors or warnings when checking the Site Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status)?
    3. Are you able to complete Site Kit set up from this TasteWP disposable WordPress site? This can help indicate a host related block, not specific to IPv6.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

    (@dreejt)

I tried your first method, this occurred into the same error.

I don’t see any warnings related to this in my Site Health status
I tried the connection via the TasteWP site, this did work.

My current location is: 9751 EG Haren
    Hope this helps!

Thanks for sharing this additional information @dreejt. If the same is occurring in troubleshooting mode, and you can complete set up via the test site, there is something at host level blocking connection to Google services.

As you’re a Cloudflare user, can you temporary pause Cloudflare before checking once more?

    Thread Starter dreejt

    (@dreejt)

After pausing cloudflare I was able to connect Sitekit, but this returns other errors:

    403. That’s an error. Your client does not have permission to get URL /webmasters/v3/sites/https%3A%2F%2Fwww.tjeerdoutside.nl%2F/searchAnalytics/query from this server. That’s all we know.

Thanks for the update @dreejt. Great that you were able to since connect. Given the next errors you’re encountering, please share the following:

    1. When checking the Site Kit dashboard from a Chrome browser incognito window do the same error appear? If so, please share any browser console errors that appear.?
    2. A screenshot of these errors. You can use a service such as Imgur or Jumpshare to share a screenshot. You can use the same form previously used to share privately if preferred.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.

Hola James, puedo seguir haciendo consultas por este medio relacionados al mismo tema ? o tengo que abrir un nuevo ticket ?

Hi @cortinashd. If you can open a new support topic and share your Site Health information that references your own support topic this would be ideal, as we can look into your case individually. As there can be different causes for this error, the fix and troubleshooting steps would be specific to your own set up.

I’ll keep an eye out for your topic.
