    Hi,

I get the following message when I try to delete a Splogger:
“There was a problem connecting to the WangGuard server. Please check your server configuration.”

    Also this:
“The key you entered could not be verified because a connection to wangguard.com could not be established. Please check your server configuration.”

    And this:
“The key below was previously validated but a connection to wangguard.com can not be established at this time. Please check your server configuration.”

Does anyone have suggestions for what might be causing this?

    Thanks

  • Within the last 2 hours the website at https://www.wangguard.com appears to be down with a server error.

When I went to my configuration page for the wangguard plugin, I got exactly what @dice2dice got saying my key was previously validated (it was, I have been using wangguard for several months now) but a connection to wangguard.com could not be established.

When I used Firefox to go to https://www.wangguard.com I got:

Warning: mysql_query(): Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ‘/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock’ (2) in /home/wangguar/public_html/inc/phpdb-core-1.4.1.php on line 684

I just checked https://www.wangguard.com again and got:

    Index of /

    rest.wang.subdom/

so it appears somebody is working on the server, but it isn’t back to being functional yet.

    Hi,

We had a very big problem with the servers. We are restoring since 7 hours ago WangGuard.

    I’m sorry for the problem.

I will update this topic when WangGuard is back online.

    Mr. Conti:

Your domain shows what looks to me like a suspension page. Your site is advertising to all the world that you didn’t pay your hosting bill. This link:

    https://wangguard.com/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi

is the resolution of “wangguard.com” and starts with the word SORRY in 72-point sans-serif gray boldface.

Also: it would appear that I’ve lost my API key on at least one of my servers. The message I get back says the key is now cleared.

Will I be able to get that API key back? Or must I re-establish one?

A follow-up: any time a site says, “If you are the owner, contact your hosting provider,” that makes me suspect the webmaster’s host just served him with a virtual eviction notice for nonpayment of rent.

It doesn’t necessarily indicate non-payment. I’ve had server problems that returned the same message.
What I’m seeing is a problem with Apache. I’ve simply deactivated the Wangguard plugin until the server is repaired.

Apache. That makes sense. It’s the most serious technical problem a Web server can have.

    Same problem here.

Just tested it. Seems to be up and running again.

It is still not all the way working, on the users list if you hover over a ‘User IP’ you get a message:

“Fatal error: Class ‘MongoClient’ not found in /home/wangguar/public_html/rest.wang.subdom/get-ip-info.php on line 81”

Good catch. I hadn’t noticed that. I’m getting same.

    Anybody else getting this?

    Connectivity tab:

    Unable to find WangGuard servers.
A DNS problem or firewall is preventing all access from your web server to wangguard.com. WangGuard cannot work correctly until this is fixed.

    API tab:

The key you entered could not be verified because a connection to wangguard.com could not be established. Please check your server configuration.

I am not aware of any changes on my server.

I don’t even get that much. The servers are out of reach and my keys have now been erased.

    OK thanks.
I had to close registration on one site because it has suddenly been getting hammered with suspicious registrations, but I won’t bother my host just yet. I’m sure WangGuard will sort it out before too long.

    Hi to all,

First i’m sorry for the downtime. We had a very big problem and we had to reinstall all servers from backups. WangGuard is working since 16h ago, but we wait this hours for check the stability.

Now, The WangGuard service is online, but some functionalities are not working, like IP information (MongoDB), so if you look for a IP information you will see something like:

    Fatal error: Class ‘MongoClient’ ….

In other way, how i said, we have to restore WangGuard from a backup. The backup had 24h from the servers crash, so all signup around day 17 don’t exist. People that signup that day, they need to signup again, im sorry.

After we restarted the service, many DNS servers cached wangguard.com as Don’t exists, so you need to restart the DNS Server, or wait some hours for refreshed cache.

Now, we have to tune the servers, so WangGuard don’t work at 100%, maybe you get some “Not checked” users, or problems with the wizard.

We will need some days for tune WangGuard again.

Really I’m very sorry for this problem.

    José Conti
