Can’t connect to Weblog Tools Collection

  • Hello,

    I’m a WordPress newbie and have been working on a website for the past few weeks. I’m currently using localhost as the host server. Just today, after signing on and getting to the Dashboard, I find I can’t connect to the Weblog Tools Collection sites – I get a “Error establishing a database connection” message. Other links work fine from the Dashboard. The website I’m working on also works correctly and I’m able to edit it from within the WP admin. I know this worked before today because I’ve downloaded some of the themes. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  • That would be because that site is down…

    It looks like Mark, who normally manages the site daily, is on vacation. I’ve emailed Carthik who is filling in for Mark.

    There appears to be a problem with the mysql databases – something beyond my control at the moment. I had noticed this much earlier and have emailed Mark. Seeing as he might be offline and elsewhere, I have no idea when things might be back up. I cannot administer his server (don’t have the keys).
