Can't create a gallery

Hi,
When I try to create a gallery I get this message:
“Heads up! We couldn’t create a new gallery. Try upgrading or reinstalling the Vimeography plugin.”At the moment we’re just using the free plugin. We had migrated the site from another server, and my IT person installed it, and I don’t have access to reinstall. Wondering if the problem lies somewhere else?
