    Hi,

I’ve installed the plugin. It’s successfully creating the CSV file and Facebook is pulling the products into a catalog.

However the catalog was not displaying in the Shop on the Facebook page. So I followed the steps in Q. Products are not displayed on my shop after creating a shop manually in Facebook!. I removed the default catalog that was created by Facebook. However, when I try to add the WooCommerce catalog as described here, Facebook Page shop does not appear in the list of Use Cases, so I can’t add the shop for this catalog.

I have connected the WooCommerce catalog to the Business Manager that manages the Page, but I still can’t see the Facebook Page shop option in Use Cases.

What can I try next to resolve this please?

    Thanks,
    Matt

  • Hi Matt! ( @globalmatt )

Thanks for reaching out to us here, I appreciate it. ??

Could you please let me know what kind of account is connected to that page? Is it a personal or business account?

Additionally, would you please let me know the version numbers of the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin, as well as WooCommerce and WordPress?

    Thanks so much!

    Thanks for your reply Julie!

I think it’s a business account but I’m not 100% sure. How do I check?

    Plugin version: 1.11.3
    WooCommerce version: 4.1.0
    WordPress version: 5.4.1

I also tried creating a new test catalog and that catalog did give me the option to add the shop. It’s only the WooCommerce catalog that has the problem.

    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hey Matt! ( @globalmatt )

First, my apologies, the terminology is still a bit new to me. You can have a Facebook Profile (which is essentially like a personal account) or you can have a Page which then can have a Shop. What I’m trying to ask is if your own account is associated with the Page and Shop or if the shop has its own account that’s separate from the account you’re trying to use.

From what you’re describing, it sounds as though the shop isn’t able to see the catalog that WooCommerce is creating, which would tend to indicate an issue with accounts — perhaps the account associated with the page and shop isn’t the one associated with WooCommerce?

Any other details here about the account setup you’ve got here would be great.

    Thank you so much!

    Hi Julie,

It’s a Facebook Page with a Shop. It’s a client’s Page, and I’m using his Facebook account to manage the Page and set up the Shop. It’s also the same Facebook account that I used to set up the plugin.

Please also see my reply in this thread:

As I say, I can create a test catalog using the same Facebook account and that gives me the option to add the shop in Use Cases. It’s only the catalog created by the plugin that doesn’t have a linking option in Use Cases.

    Thanks,
    Matt

Also, unless I’m imagining it, Facebook have completely changed how all of this works since I looked at this last week. The Use Cases have gone, and have been replaced by a page called “Ad & Sales Channels”. Again, no option to link to Shop – just Traffic Ads, Dynamic Ads and Instagram Shopping.

However, there is something called Commerce Manager now – should we be using that instead?

(Also, I’ve just noticed that the products are now appearing in the Page Shop on the Facebook front end! This has happened even though we didn’t link the catalog to the shop. So I’ve no idea what’s happening but it appears to sort of be working now.)

    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hey Matt! ( @globalmatt )

This is entirely possible. I know that they’re doing work on their end while we do some work on our end. As I understand it, things are currently in transition as Facebook rolls out “Shops”:

It’s possible your account has been moved to this new Shop interface. Do you think that’s the case, based on what you’re seeing?

That said, please do keep an eye on things and please let me know if things stop working!

    Thanks so much, Matt.
