can't create new pages or posts

  • I’ve just taken over a blog and i’ve never really used wordpress before, so if any one replies to this please dumb it down a bit for me.

    Basically I changed the theme of the blog, deleted a few posts and pages, updated wordpress to the latest version, and now… I can’t upload any new posts, or create any pages. Please help if you can.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    I’ve tried deactivating all the plugins and just switched to Twenty Eleven, but no joy. every time I try and post my mac just starts beach balling and I have to force quit on safari. so how do I reset the plugins folder? can i do it myself?

    What happens if you use another browser? Or another machine?

    I’ve tried it on my computer at work, and on my personal laptop at home and the same thing happens on both.

    no i haven’t, some one in the office works on the pc, and i think they use firefox. could that be a possibility?
