When you no longer need a block, it’s impossible to delete it. There used to be a 3 dots type button that appeared if you managed to hover over the right area of the block which you could use to find the delete function. Now – that’s gone.

    I have blocks I can’t physically delete.

As soon as I wrote this I discovered that the delete function is now at the top of the page.

Yes, the three dots menu was moved to be in the menu bar for each block, since some people were having trouble finding it when it was separated to the right side.

That’s really funny given that I then, couldn’t find it. LOL.

Yeah, different people see different things. The main issue was that people saw the big top menu pop up and obscure content, but missed the little tiny dot menu on the right side, so we got complaints that deleting blocks was not possible. You can’t win. ??

The issue is valid for some blocks—they can’t be deleted. Using the delete key when they’re selected doesn’t work, and the only option they have in the three-dots menu is “Hide Block Settings”. They can’t be moved around, either. It may be that this applies to all blocks that have a parent block set, but that shouldn’t prevent them from being deleted or rearranged within a valid block.

Yeah still same problem today March 21 2019, I cant delete the block i dont even see the three dots or maybe I need a plugin for that?

Same here…cannot delete blocks. Was trying to use this blocks feature…but looks like I’m going back to the classic editor…after 3rd time, 3rd site, of trying to move over to blocks.

Erase everything out of that block then change to classic then click HTML on the top of the page your working on, look for scroll down the page and look for <!– wp:paragraph –><p> </p><!– /wp:paragraph –> and delete it out. Update then go back to block editor and now its gone.

ahh scratch that just highlight the blocks with the mouse and press delete LOL
