Got a bad update so I rolled it back and tried to disable the auto update for plugins. I think this was put in on the install so that the client wouldn’t have to log in and update things themselves regularly. But now I need to not update the plugins until this problem can be figured out. I found the cron but there’s no checkbox next to it to disable/delete it:

Is this because it’s int he core and not in a plugin? How to I fix this?

Yeah these are WordPress core cron jobs that cannot be deleted because WordPress core instantly schedules them back in again.

So it’s mandatory now? You can’t even avoid it? This sucks.

I figured out a way to circumvent it, at least for now. I set it to non-recurring with the next check happening in about two years. At least this buys me time to figure out the problem without worrying about the update taking the site down again…..
