    Hello

    I would prefer not to have the default WordPress Blogroll showing up in my right-hand sidebar, but it is not listed as a widget when I click there. I have no idea how to get rid of it, as it is irrelevant to what my blog is going to be about. Has anyone had success in solving this problem?

    This is the blogroll:

    Blogroll

    * Development Blog
    * Documentation
    * Plugins
    * Suggest Ideas
    * Support Forum
    * Themes
    * WordPress Planet

    And the theme I am using is called “Atalhualpa”

    I would appreciate any tips, advice etc leading tosolution

    thank you so much!

  • Hi, in the backend of wordpress, you could find a coloumn called links, remove the links as you like.

    hi there

    yeah, it’s not there either. the was orignally a “blog roll” in there, which I renamed to be relevant and that shows up too, which is great. But a second default blog roll is still there…

    I can’t get rid of that one. Does anyone have any ideas?

    am getting desperate!

    thanks

    Try editing sidebar.php in your theme.

    i have this problem, with blogroll and a few other ones, edit it to what though?

    One easy option, if you’re using a widget-capable theme, is to to add widget from Admin/Appearance/Widgets to your sidebar. These should replace the default sidebar content, so just choose the widgets you want to display.

    Hi Esme

    thanks – unfortunately that doesn’t seem to work either.

    you mentioned previously to edit sidebar.php in the theme… could you elaborate please?

    thank you!

    editing sidebar.php might prove difficult since there isn’t one with that theme

    the table i think is called links, wp_links if you didn’t change the prefix…delete the records from there.

    Perhaps I should test another theme.

    But if I do that, and decise to go back to this theme, will my settings all be lost for the current theme?
