• Hello all!

    Website is https://www.abroadoutlook.com

I uploaded the theme you see there and imported demo files for that as well.

Here’s the issue: I delete the theme from my dashboard as well as the folder via FTP manager (and all plugins associated with it). I re-download the zip file with the theme, re-extract everything and then upload a completely fresh theme folder…. Yet ALL of the old changes I made are reflected on the new upload.

What am I missing? How do I delete EVERYTHING for good?

    Appreciate any help.

  • You are not missing anything. Theme options are stored in your site’s database rather than within the theme’s folder. At the present time (and as far as I am aware), unlike plugins, theme developers do not have access to a core WP function that would delete these database entries when you delete the theme. So you are left with options from previously deleted themes in your database which will be immediately applied if you upload a fresh copy of the theme.

Currently, the only way to stop this is to edit the wp-options table of your database and remove the old theme’s options manually using whatever database management tool your hosts offer. If you do decide to try this, please, please, ensure that you carry out a database backup before you make any changes.

Awesome, thank you so very much. I’ll give that a try.

Also, none of the posts show up except for 4 April and earlier… I think it’s something to do with the demo files? I’m completely at a loss here. All plugins disabled except for the three required by the theme.
