• My site has been down for 3 days because of this plugin. This plugin was installed when I purchased Managed WP hosting package with GoDaddy and has been messing up my website ever since. I cancelled my package with GoDaddy and went on to host my website on Cpanel and the plugin was transferred in the migration. Now I can not delete the plugin not even through phpMyAdmin! Reps at GoDaddy were surprised that when they tried deleting it that it kept repopulating itself. This is the absolute most frustrating thing I’ve ever been through. My site has been down for 3 days!!!

  • Same thing happened to me. I went through the file manager on the CPanel and removed the plugin, but something was left behind which I couldn’t find.

What I did after deleting the plugin folder via CPanel was: I re-installed the plugin, activated it, then de-activated it, and then deleted it from the WP dashboard.

Not sure why that worked, but it did. Hope this helps you if you haven’t found a solution yet.

Thank you both for reporting this. We caught a bug that is causing an issue with GoDaddy’s Managed WordPress hosting.

Our developers are working on the solution.

In case you are still experiencing issues, please open a ticket with our support team that will do their best to help out.

For now we can only apologize for the bad experience you had due to this bug. Please let me know if you have any other questions and thank you for raising this issue.

I currently have the same issue on a client site, was a resolution ever found? Deleting via FTP and it just keeps coming back again so it would be great to have some steps on how to resolve.

In addition to not being permitted to delete the plugin (a new “feature” intended to prevent users from “accidentally” disconnecting the plugin, believe it or not), the plugin is also now hidden from view. I find these two latest developments odious and counterproductive to my use of WordPress. Now that the plugin has become buggier than ever, this is the worst possible time to hide it(why on Earth?) and (needlessly) prevent its deletion. What if someone just didn’t want this plugin any more?

hmm – I’ve just deleted the plugin without any problems.
