    I can’t delete the plugin after the test installation, don’t know about this plugin’s compatibility with other plugins, but surely it creates a whole lot of mess for me.

    Anyway, I check marked Delete setting on the plugin deletion this option from the advanced setting, and hope I can escape from all the mess this plugin created on my site,

    Its shows the following error on the top of the dashboard when trying to remove this plugin, note my site contains 8k posts in 1k Cat and 5k tags from 1k users. And I can add active deactivate delete any other plugin except this plugin.

    Let me know how can I delete this plugin with all the mess it created.

    Hi @kabirbd

    Thanks for using PublishPress Permissions.

    I’m sorry about the issue. It’s Sunday evening here, so our support team isn’t available as it would be Monday to Friday.

    But there are some steps we can give you this evening.

    1) The best thing you can do, if you have file access, is go to /wp-content/plugins/ and disable the /press-permit-core/ folder.

    2) Errors like this are logged – your message says “Please check your error logs”. Check the error log on your server. If you can’t find the log, please contact your host.

    3) Your server may be short of resources. Your hosting company can confirm whether that’s true or not.

    Are you saying the problem is with my server and or host! Are you okay!

    Did you read this part of my post?

    Note my site contains 8k posts in 1k Cat and 5k tags from 1k users. And I can add active deactivate delete any other plugin except this plugin.

    I can delete the folder from my plugin directory will it delete its all changes? Ensure me.

    @kabirbd Yes, if a server lacks enough power, it can often have problems with installing / updating / deleting plugins. That’s not guaranteed to be the issue here, but it’s possible. Please do contact your host.

    Yes, if you can safely delete the folder from the plugin directory.

    @stevejburge
    Never ever tell anyone to contact the host unless you are sure.

    And I deleted the plugin folder from my directory, it’s gone from the plugin list. I am not sure about the mess yet.

    Thank you for your response, although I am not satisfied the way you response.

    @kabirbd Based on your description:

    1. You previously enabled the “Delete settings on plugin deletion” option
    2. This caused a fatal error because our uninstall script needlessly called a function that does not exist in single site installations.

    It seems that the testing of this recently developed feature was done on sites that masked the error. We’ll be releasing a corrected version soon.

    However, please note that the Permissions settings which failed to be deleted do not have any effect once the plugin code is inactive. The deletion of these settings is only to remove clutter from your database.

    If you are facing persistent changes after removing plugins, that’s likely due to changes made using our Capabilities plugin, or another role editor plugin. Since role capabilities are stored to the database, plugin deactivation does not automatically reverse them. If you were running the Capabilities plugin, it does have a backup tool you can use to restore previous role configurations.
