Can’t delete plugins unless I deactivate iThemes Security

  • As the title says… Can’t delete plugins unless I deactivate iThemes Security. I’ve found this issue with 2 sites. I started deactivating one plugin at a time and then trying to delete some plugins and each time I get a critical error warning that deletion failed but as soon as I deactivate iThemes Security deleting plugins work right away.

    I get no issue with installing plugins, activating plugins, deactivating plugins. Just deleting them is an issue.

    I’m running iThemes Security Version 6.7.1
    I’m running WP Version 5.7.1

    Which setting do I need to edit for this to be sorted?

  • Hi John,

    Assuming you provided the correct plugin release (6.7.1 – 2020-09-24) I think you are using an outdated iTSec PRO plugin.

    So it’s probably best to update to the latest release (at the time of writing this post 6.8.4 – 2021-04-13).

    No guarantees it will solve your issue, but I think it’s worth the try.

    To prevent any confusion, I’m not iThemes.
