    HI

I am trying to clean up my mailpoet subscribers as the lists are getting extremely slow. I have followed https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/304-why-i-cant-delete-my-subscribers and still can’t delete the subscribers from mailpoet trash. It keeps giving me the “0 subscribers were permanently deleted” notification.

Currently there are 116 subscribers in the trash that I want to empty.

I read several topics about exactly this but none of them were actually resolved yet marked resolved.

    Please help!

Systeminfo as requested in other threads.

I should probably mention that the subscribers are have been deleted from wordpress users and the orders on woocommerce are also deleted. Yet I can’t empty the trash.. ??

Here’s a video dokumention of what happens.

    https://gyazo.com/2473966065bb3a64ad2781bebe92310d

The user doesn’t exist anywhere else but here and I really don’t want to crawl the database to delete trash on mailpoet.

    Hi @leopoldvb,

Could you please go to the MailPoet > Lists and click the “Force Sync” option below the WordPress Users list?

You can do the same thing for the WooCommerce Customers list.

Then wait a few minutes and let me know if the subscribers are still there in the Trash.

    Thread Starter leopoldvb

    (@leopoldvb)

    Thank you for your responce.

I did as you requested and it removed 9 subscribers from the trash. So there are 108 left in the trash.

    What do you suggest? ??

I look forward hearing from you.

    Hi @leopoldvb,

    Good, we’re getting there!

Can you please tell me which list these 108 subscribers were added to? What do they NOT have in common with the ones that were successfully deleted?

And can you confirm they have also been deleted as WP Users or WC Customers?

    Thread Starter leopoldvb

    (@leopoldvb)

The 108 subscribers are WooCommerce Customers.

We don’t know which subcribers that were deleted – it might have been test users as we only have 1 test user left.

    https://gyazo.com/a0d581fa483cf3a75ab9914886bdaf5a

On the screenshot you’ll see that the subscriber is a WooCommerce Customer, like the rest of the 107 are now.

And to your question if I can comfirm if they were deleted as WP Users or WC Customers, none of the 108 are anywhere to be found but on Mailpoet -> Subscribers -> Trash

    Thread Starter leopoldvb

    (@leopoldvb)

I just manage to remove a customer that was not part of any list. I first put the customer in trash and then cleared the trash.

Ok, so the question is now, how do I remove subscribers from a list?

Let’s say I want to remove the test account seen on the screenshot here:
    https://gyazo.com/a0d581fa483cf3a75ab9914886bdaf5a
This account is part of WooCommerce Customer list. Where can I remove the test account from that list?

    Hi @leopoldvb,

This account is part of WooCommerce Customer list. Where can I remove the test account from that list?

To delete this subscriber from the MailPoet plugin, you first need to go to the WooCommerce plugin and delete this customer’s order. After that, when the WooCommerce Customers list syncs, the subscriber should be removed from it.

    Thread Starter leopoldvb

    (@leopoldvb)

Exactly this have I done already. Please take a look at the screenshots provided in this post.

    1) The test account “[email protected]” is marked as a WooCommerce Customer in Mailpoet.
    Link to screenshot here: https://gyazo.com/8743c4b17b3c348a41b5e7a8a81c8ad6

    2) I have deleted the order in WooCommerce -> Orders. As seen on the screenshot I’ve searched for the exact email address.
    Link to screenshot here: https://gyazo.com/acd66ba117936a38dd7490d1d0872682

    3) I have forced synced the WooCommerce Customer list (and the WP users list too).
    Link to screenshot here: https://gyazo.com/a67c173315fa152fedc213d4ad22c7fd

    4) I have chosen exactly this account and clicked delete permanently.
    Link to screenshot here: https://gyazo.com/c341cb23f8a5605554ccd9d77ace3972

Yet the account remains in trash.

    What can we do?

    Best regards
    Leopold ??

    Hi Leopold,

These are the correct steps to get the subscribers removed from the plugin. It may take a few minutes to sync your list, and that would explain why the subscribers are still shown in the Trash.

It could also be a caching issue. Have you tried to clear your cache and check if the subscriber is still there?

    Thread Starter leopoldvb

    (@leopoldvb)

    Hi ??

I did exactly these step a couple of days ago.

I haven’t tried clearing cache before just now.

    This were the steps:
    1) Cleared cache -> “Purge SG Cache”
    Link: https://gyazo.com/03d9ac770dc9138409c51cee86689895

    2) Forced sync again on WC and WP users

    3) Emptied trash in Mailpoet.

Still not rid of the trash.. ??

@bruberries I’ve deleted your offer to login to your user’s site. I’m am 100% sure you mean well but please never ask for credentials on these forums.

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/guidelines/#the-bad-stuff

Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.

Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us escalating this to the plugins team.

It’s never necessary to do that. Here’s why.

There are many ways to get information you need and accessing the user’s site is not one of them. That’s going too far.

    You get the idea.

Volunteer support is not easy. But these forums need to a safe place for all users, experienced or new. Accessing their system that way is a short cut that will get you into real trouble in these forums.

Here’s how to delete subscribers from mailpoet:

    1) Move the order to trash in “WooCommerce -> Orders”

    2) Go trash in “WooCommerce -> Orders -> Trash” and mark your trashed orders, select Delete permanently. (This was the step I didn’t see anywhere…)

    3) Go to “Users” in WordPress and delete the user you wish to remove.

    4) Go to Mailpoet -> Lists -> find WooCommerce Customers -> hover it -> find and click “Force Sync”.

    5) Like at 4), Mailpoet -> Lists -> find Wordpres Users -> Hover it -> Force Sync

    6) Go to Mailpoet -> Subscribers -> Wait 1 min for mailpoet to load the subscribers -> Trash -> wait again.. -> mark the subscribers you which to delete and click “Delete permanently” or just click “Clear Trash”.

I hope this helped anyone who might have the same issue as I had.

However, Mailpoet lists are still loading extremely slowly even after deactivating multiple other plugins like “Siteground Optimizer” with it’s “Purge SG Cache” feature.
