I’m seeing a “Security auto-update of WooCommerce” notice at the top of my website admin panel when looking at a woocommerce produce or the woocommerce admin area

it then says “Your store has been updated to the latest secure version of WooCommerce. We worked with WordPress to deploy security updates related to PayPal Standard payment gateway for stores running WooCommerce (version 3.5 to 6.3).”

but there isn’t a ‘dismiss’ button under it

how can i get rid of this?

  • Same issue here on one of my sites. Can’t dismiss the notice, though I do see the button it just does not work.

    Hi @dlynch027 and @ddjg

One way to dismiss this admin notice is to manually change the status in the database.

Look for a row called woocommerce-core-paypal-march-2022-updated in the _wc_admin_notes table, and change the status to actioned.

    That should dismiss the notice.

I don’t have that entry at all (remember, I never used that paypal plugin before). I looked in wp_wc_admin_notes and the only thing that has “core” in the db is about a woocommerce db update. and it’s already set as actioned.

I also do not have this row (and have never used paypal on this site).

Also, I’ve initially tried disabling all plugins except woocommerce and set to the 2022 theme. No dice.

Actually, i found the row! When searching, the results were none. But when sorting by date in the database rows, I found it near the top and actioned it. I had multiple instances of it that needed to be set to actoined for some reason before it worked.

    Hi @dlynch027,

    Thanks for the screenshot.

Please search the row by date_created from the most recent and check if you can find the content. If not, clear the transients and the template cache in WooCommerce > Status > Tools (https://snipboard.io/id5NaO.jpg).

To clarify, the notice is about a security update of PayPal Standard which was included with WooCommerce core and is no longer enabled on new installs.

@ddjg Glad to hear you found the row. If you require further assistance please open your own topic so we make sure each user receives proper attention.

    Best regards.

okay! that seemed to do the trick (sorting by recently created)

the notice is no longer present in the admin panel (that I can see right now)

    thanks so much, all!
