Cant edit existing pages or posts

    I got an error this evening when trying to edit a post on my site, and I get the same error when I try to edit any existing page. Two of us were logged on different computers and using the admin at the same time as I was training the other person on how to edit a post. I think this is what caused the issue.
    The error is “The site is experiencing technical difficulties. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.” but no email has come to me. The front end of the site is displaying fine, the error appears when I try to edit any existing content in the admin. I am able to add new posts ok.
    Can anyone advise how I fix this or how I even trouble shoot it please?

    Okay if you are getting the message “The site is experiencing technical difficulties. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions” This means your site is running into a fatal error from a theme or plugin. I would deactivate your plugins one by one and check to see if you can edit page or posts after deactivating one plugin go check to see if you can edit your posts or pages. This way you can narrow down the conflicting plugin if there is one. I would also try switching to the default WordPress theme to see if your theme could be causing this issue as well.

    Hi Josh

    Thanks for your suggestions. Strangely when I logged on this morning the issue had resolved. The only action I took was to briefly turn Troubleshoot mode on but because the front end started showing css code in place of a banner, (and this is a live site) I turned it off again a few moments later. Then editing worked as normal… Im still none the wiser about what was causing this issue but thankfully its sorted!
