Can’t Edit Layout Settings

Hi, I’m trying to modify the max width and content layout settings via Appearance -> Customizer -> Layout.

I can see the settings fields and even click into them, such that the text cursor appears and is flashing.

The current settings are there, appear grayed out, and I can’t type, highlight, or change them.

Shouldn’t I be able to edit them here vs. using custom CSS to override the settings? How do I “unlock” those fields.

Site is using a child of the Total theme.
