Is it possible that the wordpress application caches the poll, because the changes are reflected in the admin tool, but not on the front of the website. Is there something I could clear to make it work?

It’s possible that the static Javascript file used by the poll embed is cached by your browser but it should refresh after a few minutes or an hour at the most.

Have you tried loading your blog through a different browser after you make the change? Or deleting your browser cache?

    Hi Donccha,

It looks like it’s taking about 10 minutes for the update to take place. Is there anything I can do to expedite it?

    Thanks,
    Emily

Does this 10 minute wait happen even if you use a new browser or clear the cache in your main browser?

It should update immediately but sometimes it can take longer.

It instantly changes in a new browser. It takes the 10 minutes even with the hard refresh in the same browser.

I’m glad it changes immediately in a new browser. Your own browser seems to be caching the old version too aggressively. You may just have to clear the cache on your browser when testing a new poll, or if you use Firefox you can use the Web Developer extension to disable the cache.
