• Hi,

    I have taken on the task of updating this site from someone else. I’m not able to create another variation for the annual conference registration, edit an existing one, or see what products have already been added through the products settings. The site and the system status are listed below:

    Thanks in Advance

  • If you go to:
    Dashboard > Users > you > Edit
    what role is set for you in the role dropdown?

    I think you need to be at least Shop Manager. If you are now the main person for the site, you should be Adminstrator.

    Would also help of you could take a screenshot of your variation product setup (variations and attributes) for a better idea of what you’re getting on your side.

    Also, are you getting the same thing when deactivating *Woo Checkout Field Editor Pro: by ThemeHiGH* ?

    Yes. I’m getting the same thing when I deactivate Woo Checkout Field Editor Pro.

    Not sure how to attach a screenshot since there’s no attachment icon.

    This is what I see when I click on Products => Edit https://www.virginiasocialscience.org/wp-admin/post.php?post=103&action=edit

    Please tell us your user role.

    Consider updating your theme to the latest version and retest.

    Please repost the screenshot using a different url. www.ads-software.com forum members rightly don’t have access to your admin pages. Don’t post credentials on this public forum.

    I am an administrator. The theme has been updated to the latest version, so has WordPress. Here’s another url to try

    https://www.virginiasocialscience.org/test-page/

    It looks like you have Wootique v1.6.9 but the current version is 1.6.14. See the changelog:
    https://dzv365zjfbd8v.cloudfront.net/changelogs/wootique/changelog.txt
    I don’t know if updating will make a difference but its the thing to do when there are problems.

    I upgraded, and now I can’t get to any of the options that were previously there, plus the dropbox is cut off so that there’s no arrow to click to select an option.

    https://www.virginiasocialscience.org/test-page/

    To fix the truncated dropdown, try this custom css;

    .variations td select {
      max-width:220px
    }

    Custom css can be entered at:
    Dashboard > Appearance > Customise > Additional CSS

    Alternatively, you could put the image at the top with the text bits underneath instead of at the side. This will make more width available for the drop-down:

    .single-product .product .summary {
      width: 504px;
      clear:both
    }

    Does that still leave us with “unable to add a variation” issue? Getting attributes setup and variation setup is tricky when starting out and I think that’s the place to focus on.

    Review the long explanation here:
    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/variable-product/

    The short explanation is:
    Set out attributes in this format:
    course 1 | course 2 | course 3

    ensure: visible on product page is checked
    ensure: used for variations is checked

    Then go to the variations tab and make new variations for your new attributes.

    To continue, I think we need to go back to @riaan’s suggestion and look at screenshots for your attributes and variations setup. On the product edit page, click the little down arrow alongside “Product Data”. This will expose several tabs. We need to see the Attributes tab when expanded and secondly the variations tab when expanded. Not any of the other stuff on the product edit page.

    Hi,
    I have the same problem after upgrading to Woocommerce 2.6.13.
    I can’t edit or add variations (see screenshot)

    Thanks
