Can't edit posts/pages since 3.9 update

Thanks joesell89! I just deactivated all my plugins then re-activated them one by one, and of course it was the LAST one I tested that caused the problem, ugh! The plugin name is Zedity by Zuyoy. Another suspect is Responsive Addons by Cyber Chimps although I’m not sure if I’m using that correctly and it didn’t cause the main problem, but since I activated it I now have a problem seeing my menu choices on the left sidebar in the middle. Hope this helps other people too (deactivate Zedity)! ??

Due to Major changes in Media Editing and MySQLi for PHP v5.5, some sites might face severe issues.

I strongly suggest to have a backup for both wordpress files and DB before updating to WP v3.9

After having backups, members must follow instructions by @joesell89.

If anyone face errors or bugs, then either deactivating all plugins or renaming each plugin’s folder will allow access to sites backend. Then activate or rename plugin folder one by one then find out who is the culprit for your site. Then report the bug for the same to the concern plugin support forum to resolve the issues from plugin authors.

If the above method doesn’nt work then delete previously installed wp files. Now revert to your previous state by uploading both backups wp files and DB taken earlier. Now your site back to the previous state.

I had the same problem and found a responsible plug-in.

If you have:

WP-PageNavi
(Version 2.85)

De-activate it.

That was the one not-compatible with my WordPress 3.9 install.
There may be more of your plug-ins that are causing the issue. As others have suggested, just mass de-activate all plug-ins. Then one by one activate them and see if it loads an ‘edit’ page. If the page loads, that plug-in that you re-activated was not the issue.

Same issue as above – after updating to 3.9 my edit pages are blank.
I will now go down the road of deactivating all plugins and then reactivating one by one.
NOT GOOD

Encountered the same problem. Solved it by:

1) Deactivating all plugins
2) Updating all plugins, needed to be updated
3) Activating all plugins

It worked!

Sorted it out – the culprit is “MailPoet Newsletters”.
When I deactivated and reactivated plugins one-by-one, the pages came back until I reactivated MailPoet, then I lost them again.
Checked twice and this is the problem.
On to MailPoet next I guess.

I had exactly the same problem as those above. Zedity was the culprit for me. I am so relieved to have learned this nugget from this thread. Thanks for sharing Dusty999. I will get onto Zuyoy this morning.

It looks like WP 3.9 introduced changes that affect some plugins, including Zedity. We added a note in the description page.
We’re working already to add the support needed for WP 3.9.

And Now Evrything Working Good so far .

Euh, I have turned of all of the plugins and even then I still can’t add a images or make a link in an blogpost?!

My blog is gone and my admin panel has rolled back to 2010. I lost 4 years worth of writing, etc. Help!

Also no javascript problems or at least the problem is the same in different browers and changing wp-config.php (script de-bug set to true did not make a difference).

My website is working fine, but I can’t make any changes in pages or post by eding an image or a link. The buttons just don’t response….

clayhut, can you post the URL for your site?

Have you checked the URL posted above by Ipstenu? Do you have any of the plugins listed on that page activated?

Remember, the more clear info you can give the better we will be able to help.
