Can’t enter credit card info online site with Square

This appears to be a bug in the latest version of the plugin, as we’re having the same issue after last week’s update. The plugin authors need to issue a fix ASAP.

I just checked the checkout page at https://secourismesaglac.com/commande/ and I can enter the credit card details without any problems:

The next time you are unable to enter anything in the credit card fields, can you please do the following:

1) Go to https://www.whatsmybrowser.org and send us the link that appears there;
2) Press Command + Option + I on Mac or F12 key on Windows, then switch to Console view and see if there are any errors showing there in red. Here is an example of what we’re looking for:

Looking at the screenshots you’ve sent, I can see an error message saying SqPaymentForm can only be embedded on sites that use HTTPS. Long story short, this error means that the site is not currently using secure connection to protect credit card data. When I check the site https://subversivetextiles.com/ in Chrome, it’s saying the same thing:

To get this fixed, I’d recommend getting in touch with your hosting company and asking them what’s the best way to get an SSL certificate for your site. Here you can find more information about how this works:

Error in console:
ReferenceError: WC_Square_Payment_Form_Handler is not defined

We have no cache plugin enabled. Varnish has also been disabled from the server.
Disabling plugins did not resolve the issue.

The credit card payment is disabled for guests- user needs to be logged in as Admin for regular credit card option to be active.

This used to work earlier. Is there any setting that needs to be set in woocommerce or somewhere else to enable acceptance of credit cards for everyone. We use the squareup payment gateway and plugin.

I am encountering the same issue. It doesn’t happen all the time and it seems to possibly be associated with a zipcode or sometimes when a customer is trying to ship to a different address. PLEASE HELP. It will let you enter everything and then we you try to put in the credit card, it changes and won’t allow you to do it.

Hello, I’m having the same problem, this started happening immediately after updating the Square extension on April 30th. If you try to enter credit card payment details on the checkout page BEFORE entering billing address, it works, but if you enter billing address first, as everyone does, then the credit card field will not let you click to enter payment data.

I was just about to move everything off of PayPal to Square on my daughter’s store. Here is a version of what seems to be happening to others.

First of all, we are in testing mode using our sandbox. We can enter billing and/or shipping info first without an issue. However, if we click the alternate shipping option, we lose the ability to enter CC info. If info is already in the boxes it clears out. Since it works fine when the billing address is all that is shown, it does seem like a plugin error.

We also tried putting the same address into shipping as well as a different address, but in the same state. Nothing worked. Once the alternate shipping checkbox is clicked, the credit card info is not accessible. You can see the boxes, but cannot click into them.

We’d love to move over to Square, but this is currently keeping us from doing so.
