• Hi!

I don’t know what happened. Yesterday night my site started being very very slow. I could still enter but it took lots of time.
Today morning I can’t enter at all, It shows me the
“connection is timed out” message , but my connection is fine.

when i tried to enter to the sitemap this was the message:

Error loading stylesheet: An unknown error has occurred (804b000e)https://animationguides.com/wp-content/plugins/google-sitemap-generator/sitemap.xsl

    This is my website:
    https://animationguides.com – doesn’t go up
    I use “GODADDY” hoisting service…
Please help me, I have no idea what it can be and how to fix it!

  • I can see your website, except a lot of things are broken. Looks like your wordpress configuration is wrong so that your links refer to the wrong URLs.

I can see your content just fine–just your wordpress theme isn’t showing.

It is up and down , some of the time it just doesn’t go up at all…

but how can I fix it?

    I can’t even enter the wp-admin , area!

I don’t know why it happened, I didn’t change anything since yesterday , and then it was fine.

A “connection is timed out” message has nothing to do with WordPress. It’s a problem with the server and you should contact your hosting provider ASAP.

You should consider moving to a new hosting provider. It seems that you get connection timeouts from your area to the server because, perhaps, your distance is too great. This happens when you live in a distant area like say Russia with a poor internet connection and the server is in Los Angeles, USA. Anyone near L.A. can view your web site just fine. But you, on the other hand, might have troubles looking at your own site.

In my opinion, find a decent hosting provider that’s closest to your area and then look at one of their customers’ website to see if it gives any connection issue such as the one you are experiencing.

    Hope that helps.

    thanks,

but it was running in a normal speed , for two weeks or so

    I don’t know why is the sudden problem… ??

You can also do traceroutes to your web domain and find out which part of your connection is giving you problems to the server.

If you don’t know how, here are the steps (if you are using Windows XP/7):

    – Click the Start button
    – In Windows XP, choose Run. Then type “cmd” without the quotes. In Windows 7, type “cmd” in the Search programs and files box. This will open a black window called the DOS prompt.
    – Type “tracert yourwebsite.com” without quotes. Make sure you change yourwebsite.com to your domain.
    – Wait until the command is complete. This should take a while. You should see something like this:

Definitely contact your hosting provider. It’s still a server issue, even if it happened suddenly. There could be a problem with the server itself or a user on your server is hogging all the resources.

Don’t know what this mean though … ??

I contacted Go-Daddy by mail, hope they will answer me in a short time.

Again thank you for your help! ??

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

The timeouts are happening once you hit [x].secureserver.net, which is on your hosting provider’s end. I hope they have a good solution for you. You should also share your traceroute results with GoDaddy.

    Thread Starter AnimationGuides

    (@animationguides)

    I will do that.
Thank you very much for your help.

Yes, James is right. The problem lies on the other end–not yours. You should contact your hosting provider and include the traceroute results in your e-mail.

    You’re welcome!

    Hello James!

Yesterday night, I wrote my post of the day into my website (www.touristattitude.com), and today is not working at all. Neither the website, nor the admon (www.touristattitude.com/wp-admon).

The person who helped my to build this site got married in Mexico on Saturday and went for a 3 weeks honey moon ??

Could you please give me a hand with my problem? Thank you so much in advance!!

Mario, your blog is returning a “Internal Server Error”

Internal server errors (error 500) are often caused by plugin or theme function conflicts, so if you have access to your admin panel, try deactivating all plugins. If you don’t have access to your admin panel, try manually resetting your plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Default theme (WordPress 1.5 – 2.9.2) or the Twenty Ten theme (WordPress 3.0 and higher) to rule-out a theme-specific issue. If you don’t have access to your admin panel, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the Default theme (WordPress 1.5 – 2.9.2) or the Twenty Ten theme (WordPress 3.0 and higher) to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue.

If that does not resolve the issue, it’s possible that a .htaccess rule could be the source of the problem. To check for this, access your server via FTP or SFTP and rename the .htaccess file. If you can’t find a .htaccess file, make sure that you have set your FTP or SFTP client to view invisible files.

If you weren’t able to resolve the issue by either resetting your plugins and theme or renaming your .htaccess file, we may be able to help, but we’ll need a more detailed error message. Internal server errors are usually described in more detail in the server error log. If you have access to your server error log, generate the error again, note the date and time, then immediately check your server error log for any errors that occurred during that time period. If you don’t have access to your server error log, ask your hosting provider to look for you.

If you need further assistance, please start your own topic.
