    “Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at mysql.xxxxxxxx.dk. This could mean your host’s database server is down.
?Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
?Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
?Are you sure that the database server is running?

If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

We cannot troubleshoot your database access credentials. You need to do this with your hosts.

i can also connect to the db from the commandline:

    [tomw@surplus cavitronix.com]$ mysql -h hp -u cavitronix_wp -p
    Enter password:
Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or \g.
Your MySQL connection id is 16
Server version: 5.5.24 MySQL Community Server (GPL)

and yes, these are the credentials in my wp-config. so where might i find error msgs to help track down the problem?

Its, ok for me, we have the same problem, and haven’t got a solution yet..

Have you found a solution yet ? I have the same problem with mine.

    Please post your own topic.

    Hey o0mcart0o,

Like Esmi said, you have to double check your credentials. I see your referencing to your FTP credentials being correct but your FTP credentials and database credentials are two separate things. You will need to be certain that your wp-config.php files has your database host, database user, and database password. You can get these either from your host or if you know where to look, in your control panel your host provides.

@ivanturbinca, esmi is just trying to withhold the WordPress forum policy. While other, like you, later search and come on to this post, they are trying to find an answer. They are not looking for how many people had the same issue. If you have the same issue, you can create a new topic or subscribe to this one. ??

Added to which IvanTurbinca has a completely different issue and has already posted his own topic.
