  • Hi Tim,

Can you clarify what issue you’re having wit the setup? If you share the specific error messages we can help troubleshoot. Feel free to send more information here or send an email to [email protected].

    Thanks,
    Van

@vancle There’s a large canvas (red if I remember correctly) at the WP backend that says ‘click here to set-up.’ I click and nothing happens. At all.

Thanks Tim! So that banner only shows up if you haven’t connected a Facebook page. Our logins are tied to a Facebook account, so in order to set up a bot you need to connect a business page on FB. When you click on the banner it will take you to the plugin where you can connect a page. Were you able to complete that step?

@vancle I will have another go at it tomorrow and keep you updated!

    @vancle Hi Van, I just checked again. As follows;

If in the backend I choose ‘connect facebook page’ (button halfway page) I get options, I choose what the chat plugin may and may not do and when I click ok I get to
    https://www.timhupkes.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wp-chatbot&auth_token=53075617899429b194729a093bc3f6dc&company_id=166744#_=_
But this shows a blank page.

When I choose the large magenta banner ‘complete setup’ nothing happens. It does run (so I’m thinking… it’s going to another page) but then it just stays put.

Now it still says; uh oh, setup incomplete, but apparently fb is connected because even though it still says ‘connect to your fb page’ it’s no longer a link and also, on the right there is a button ‘logout WP-bot’

@vancle I got an email that did get me further. I have 5 fb pages, all on which I would like to use your chat function. It looks like the first is connected alright (although I see nothing on my website! I have chosen to see the icon in the lower right corner)

Will keep you updated after I have connected all fb pages.

So far I conclude: things would be much handier if in WP backend one saw the message; ‘check your email for further constructions.’ ??

    Hey Tim,

That’s good news. I see that you’ve connected more pages via the MobileMonkey dashboard. I’ll follow up via email so we can address your issues with the chat widget not showing up on your website.

    Thanks,
    Van

@vancle thanks for your reaction. The icon is now showing up on my website so that’s good news. The only thing now is that I can’t get back to fb page Tim Hupkes Art (which is the one I use for chatting) on the WP backend, I keep ending up at Bestial Classic Cars. I’m not sure if that is my fault, I will have to look into this later due to a deadline. Thanks so far!
