• My client has no clue as to the whereabouts of the admin panel URL for their wordpress site nor do they know what platform their site is functioning on. I wanted to know how I can’t find the URL to log into their admin but I do have the password. I tried using my own URL but replacing it with their site (https://mysite.com/wp-admin/) but no luck!

Help – anyone know how to find this??? or the best URL to go to?

  • if wordpress was installed in a folder in the root directory, you will have to include it in there, if wordpress is in mysite.com/blog for example, the link should be mysite.com/blog/wp-admin often people do not install wordpress in the root domain mysite.com/ so give that a shot first.

I know that – i used their company name/website in lieu of mysite!

    the url is easycarerestoration.com

    thanks!

Ok, so listen close k ?? wordpress is not installed in
    EasyCarerestoration.com

it is actually installed in EasyCarerestoration.com/news/

news/ is a Sub folder EasyCarerEstoration.com is a the ROOT of your domain, wordpress is not installed in the ROOT, it is in the sub folder called News, which is a link called Tips & Tricks, on the main page.

if you dont understand this please say something cause its rather important you understand at least how that works.

so to login to the admin panel, for that site Specifically would be

    https://www.easycarerestoration.com/news/wp-admin

wow – you are a rockstar! Only problem now is that the username and password they gave me don’t work! Ahhhhhh!

    LOL, thanks!

Well make sure you and they understand that the password is typically case sensitive, so if when they created the password the used a capitol letter, then you must use a capitol letter as they did ??

ps, please mark this post as Resolved on the right side of the page ?? thanks!

Will do – tried again and didn’t work. I guess there is no last resort here to getting this info if no one knows it? like a contact phone #??

There is a way, as long as one thing was done right.

You must open phpmyadmin, which could be found on most web hosts control panel, such as cPanel, then find the database file relavent to that install of wordpress, click on wp-users, or, the Browse button, to the right of wp-users, then you will see the email address used under the admin account.

you can then click the Forgot Pasword link under the admin login screen and have the password sent to that email address, or change it..

if there is not an email address there, you can modify it, Typically by clicking the Pencil in phpmyadmin under wp-users, and inserting an email address, and then repeating the steps in the instructions above
