Can’t find .exe in list of filetypes

you can add that kind of file, see the fields in the lower part of the settings page.

Can you tell me what I should put in the required field of “mime type”for a .exe file

the problem with .exe files is that more than one “mime-type” could be used, it depends on the executeble itself ( see this link: https://filext.com/file-extension/EXE ) … so you have to add it based on your needings.

If you want you can use generic type: “application/octet-stream”

no feedback for more than 2 months, i consider this issue resolved.

sorry for replying to a resolved topic. I also had the need to enable the upload of exe files, and I found out that according to iana.org (internet authority) the mime type to use for exe files is application/vnd.microsoft.portable-executable

By the way, I would really appreciate it if you could insert exe in the list of files natively supported by the plugin, as it’s a very common file type.

.exe file is now present with the correct mime type.

To see it you have to check the option “Skip WordPress checks”, otherwise it will be blocked by standard WordPress security procedures.
