can’t find my blog on wordpress

  • Hi everyone.

    When I type my blog name into the WordPress search engine it says that my blog doesn’t exist. Can anyone tell me why and how I can get my blog to come up in searches?

  • You should probably ask that question on WordPress.com – www.ads-software.com is for hosted blogs.

    My site is a hosted blog. I’m a bit new to all of this so forgive my ignorance. Do I still need to go via wordpress.com?

    When I type my blog in the bit where you can search for other blogs or key words my blog doesn’t show. Still a bit miffed really.

    And it’s still unclear what you are talking about. What’s your blog URL and where are you looking to see it listed? Google?

    Miffed why? If your blog is self hosted, it isn’t going to show up in a search at wordpress.com. That’s for blogs hosted there. I can’t figure out why so many people think when they install WP it’s somehow connected to either wordpress .org or .com. Sigh.

    Sorry if i’ve pissed off anybody on here with my problem. I just wanted to know if i could find my blog via WordPress obviously I can’t. Thanks for all your help x

    Not very helpful, are they? I know what you’re talking about, because I’m having the same issue. Just started my blog hosted on my website. Seems like WordPress would figure out an easy way to get their software to talk to each other. Let me know if you find out anything more. Good luck!

    We’re only helpful as long as you can clearly explain what the problem is.

    I looked at the other thread that SteveHingle left a comment on and I think I finally got it.

    WordPress.COM and self-hosted WordPress blogs don’t talk to each other. Looking for your self hosted blog on WordPress.COM will never show up. It’s not supposed to, they only index WordPress.COM blogs there.

    That’s what they do and WordPress.COM is not a search engine. Look on Google or some other search engine and follow Samboll’s advice above.
