Can’t find uploaded files in theme?

    Okay, I’m a baby to wordpress and just need a little help trying to figure out how to get started. I’ve purchased a theme and followed the instructions to load it. so far so good.

    Where I’m struggling, however, is trying to figure out why I can’t find the plugins I’ve loaded within the theme so that they can be activated? They’re loaded up into the wp-content/plugins directory. I can see them. But within the dashboard, they’re not there?

    The same thing is true with my header image. The banner is in .jpg format and loaded into the wp-content/images directory. I can’t find it in the dashboard. It doesn’t show up as a header option within the theme?

    Obviously I have a lot to learn. Can someone point me in the right direction? I want to try to do this myself so that I understand how the site works from start to finish.

    The header image should be loaded in: wp-content/themes/default (or your theme name folder) /images.

    It does seem odd that your plugins are not showing. They should be here: wp-content/plugins/ and it seems you have that correct. Make sure the plugins are in single folders and not plugin folder within another folder.

    Oh! good call! I found the plugins in folders w/i the plugin folder. That worked!

    Now I think I’ve found a start to the header issue too. At least enough to get started.
