Can't find wp-admin for new site in multisite

    I just went through all the steps to create a network (subdomain). But when I go to newsite.com/wp-admin/ it gives me a 500 Internal Server Error.

    The directory for the subdomain on my server is empty; all the wp related files are in the site root. I’ve modified the .htaccess file in the site root so I’m not sure what I’m missing…I followed all the steps.

    I realize this probably isn’t enough info, but if someone could ask the right questions I can provide the answers, and maybe we can deduce where I’ve gone wrong. Thank you.

    It took 40 additional minutes, but I figured this out. I had mistakenly pointed my newsite.com to a subdirectory instead of the site root, on my web server cpanel. Once adjusting this, it works as it should.
