Can’t follow a link attached to a text

  • Hi, I can’t explain why I can’t have a link followed in a contact form.

    Here what I put in the contact form:

    [acceptance confidentialite class:required]J'ai pris connaissance et accepte la <a "https://lepassepartout.fr/politique-de-confidentialite" target=_blank>politique de confidentialité</a> du site.[/acceptance]

    acceptance_as_validation: on is added to Additional Settings.

    I’d expect that when I click in the text link (i.e. politique de confidentialité), the related page is opened (in a new tab). That’s not what happens but instead the acceptance box is (un)ticked…

    I guess this has to do with the theme I’m using on this site, but I don’t know what to do to make it work properly.

    Anyone can help me to solve it out?

    The theme is a child of Signify Photography (2.1.4).

    Try switching to the default theme, deactivating all plugins excluding Contact Form 7, Akismet, Classic Editor, Health Check and Wordfence, and clearing all cache data.

    Why you are advised to deactivate plugins and switch to the default theme.

    So I just did what you suggested and it’s still the same behavior, that is: every time I click on the link the effect is just toggle the box on the left.

    One thing I notice when I inspect the HTML code is that the URL is missing the slashes (/):


    <span class="wpcf7-list-item-label">J'ai pris connaissance et accepte la <a 'https:="" lepassepartout.fr="" politique-de-confidentialite'="" target="_blank">politique de confidentialité</a> du site.</span>

    Could this be the reason why the link doesn’t work?
