• I just managed to get my first blog post up (www.common-scold.net). The first installment is titled “Vol. 1, No. 1”. I want to put an “about me” entry on that page (and, I think, at the bottom or side of all subsequent posts), but can’t seem to get the two to coexist. Is this a matter of static v. non-static entries, or posts v. pages? The Help screens seem not to Help me. I’s appreciate any Forum Help. Also (and perhaps related): How can I put text into the side (smaller) column, the one that contains information about categories and the like? That might be a logical place for the “about me” material. Thanks.

Fancy name of that column is sidebar. There are lot of sidebar plugins :

That is popularly known as Author Box. Definitely there are plugins too :

Thank you for the language lessons. (A sidebar is also a judicial term and a journalistic designation). I had not known (nor had the help files made it easy to know) about the importance of the plugins. One remaining curiosity is that after I wrote the Author Box and saved it, it initially appeared, below the main posting (or whatever is its proper name) next time I previewed my site. On later viewings, it didn’t.
