    Hi there,

I’m relatively new with WordPress and I do see that some issues regarding the content not showing in the modal have been resolved, but none of them actually presented a solution.

I have a custom post type called ‘Car’ and I have a page showing all the cars, each with a link to the car’s respective page, with the ‘modal-link’ class.

I have tried all combinations of the settings, but I can’t get the modal to show anything.

Is there a separate template file I need to create in my theme to show this content?
Or is there perhaps a setting I am missing for this plug-in to work with my custom post type?
Or is there something in the plug-in’s code I need to change with my custom post type?

Again, sorry if this is a stupid (or obvious) question, but I’m a bit of a newbie, having recently started testing the WordPress waters after working exclusively with Drupal for 6 years.

    Thanks in advance!

Please share a link to your car listing page and then to one example of the single car page.

Are you receiving any console errors?

    Hi there

Thanks for your very quick reply!

I have still not gotten it to work. The site I’m working on is merely a mess around site to test out WordPress, so it’s a bit of an unstyled, incomprehensible mess.

The page where the popup should load is here: https://nfsnl.whereverpanda.com/car/
And an example of a page containing the (very unstyled) content it should load is here: https://nfsnl.whereverpanda.com/car/brz/

I am not receiving any errors that I am aware of.

Can you possibly see if I am doing something obviously stupid?

    Thanks!

    Hi there

After fiddling around, I realized the mistake was my own. I expected this plugin to do something that it clearly states on the plugin page that it does not do.

I expected it to bring up the entire linked post’s page (minus headers and footers) but it clearly states on the plugin page that it only shows the content you input into the text editor (which my post types don’t use).

So unfortunately it looks like I will need to look further for a solution to my problem.

Thank you very much, and sorry for wasting your time!!

    No worries at all!

I think the plugin can accomplish what you’re looking for if you are able to create a child theme or customize your theme. I wrote some details about how that would go here: https://allurewebsolutions.com/open-wordpress-post-modal-without-plugin#customizing

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with!
