    Hi- I need a little help if possible. I have looked all over to find the tutorial on how to add video to a post page. Here is the crazy thing. I had it working at one time while attempting this. I went in and added some text thinking it would just post above it and when I went back it didn’t work. I erased everything and tried multiple times and it still won’t work.

    This is what I am trying to do. I would like to post the video from this page: https://kstp.com/news/stories/S3212079.shtml?cat=1

    When I click the embed on the video I get this code: <iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="https://eplayer.clipsyndicate.com/embed/iframe?aspect_ratio=16x9&auto_next=0&auto_start=0&page_count=4&pf_id=8302&pl_id=16462&rel=3&show_title=0&tags=default&va_id=4625659&volume=8&windows=1" width="425" height="330"></iframe>

    This page is what shows up: https://drugserasedreams.org/?p=388&preview=true

    And on the news page (that should be a separate blog page format then the community stories page) Nothing shows up.

    I am frustrated. I have donated my time to build this site for a community drug awareness nonprofit, and their big assembly is tomorrow night, which this is going to be part of. I need to figure this out, so if someone can help me I would appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance for any help =)
    Traci

    sorry I have one more question. I didn’t have this before and now I do. Category Archive what is that and how do I get rid of it… I don’t want that on the pages at all… That must be part of the posts-blog thing???

    You can see what I mean if you look at it now. I added another news item with text and a video and it just streams the page. I do have post summary clicked under the settings>reading, but I still get the entire story…

    YAY!!

    Now here is the hard part of all of this… Can I add text to this post or am I better off leaving it alone?

    Sure, just do it in the text editor (if you can deal with that?)

    I really don’t want the video on the main page but where there is some text like the one below it and then you click on the title to see everything and that is where the video is… If that is not possible.. I will live with it, but that is what I was trying to do when this mess happened to begin with =)

    Try changing the format of that post to standard – I think that will change it to an excerpt – which is what you want – you probably need to put the text above the video to make that work right.

    To get rid of the Category Archive, add this to your custom CSS:

    .archive-header {
       display: none;
    }

    Okay, so if you lived in Minnesota, I would take you to dinner and buy you a beer as well. =) Thank you so much for sitting and helping me all this time. I so appreciate everything you have done to help me get this right.

    It is now PERFECT!!!

    The category thing is gone, the video’s show up, the news on the first page and click to see the video…

    I am very very happy right now… =)

    Feeling accomplished… I am learning this wordpress stuff =)

    Aw that’s sweet – I’m in California but virtual dinner and beer appreciated! At the start of this thread I was totally wishing I was sitting next to you – so this would be a bit easier and you wouldn’t be going crazy for hours trying to figure this out by yourself. You’ve given so much to this great organization by creating this site for them – I’m glad you’re now happy with it too. I expect they’ll be thrilled with it and appropriately appreciative.

    And learning WP is a plus for you too :).

    Where in California? I have been looking at moving to La Quinta. Got the moving pack and everything =)

    That is very nice of you =)I wish when I have issues with this, I did have someone sitting next to me.

    I have always built sites with graphics, photoshop, code, dreamweaver and things. I tell ya what once you get the hang of wordpress it is the best thing since peanut butter. =)

    I am on face book… tracianngilbert… look me up sometime.. =)

    Thank you again you rock and next time I am out in California we shall have that beer and dinner =)

    @wpyogi, I’m sure flirting with @tracigilbert must be flouting WordPress Forum rules ??

    (I’m just jealous as I’d like to be sitting in California right now haha)

    @rdellconsulting =) Sorry if I broke a rule! I marked this resolved. Again thanks for all the help last night. I am very happy with the site and what is starting to look like.

    Thanks again…

    Sorry, Traci, it was nothing to do with you. I was teasing @wpyogi about something that happened a few weeks ago. I hope he saw it in the humorous vein that I intended. I apologise if I caused you any embarrassment.

    And I’m delighted you resolved your technical issues!

    Ha Ha – that’s what I thought too – don’t retire from here – you’re great!

    @traci – you’re fine and great too :)!
