    I’ve followed the instructions on the documentation for setting up Google Maps. I’ve obtained an API key with the appropriate permissions and put it in the Google Maps settings of Events Manager. I’ve set the map type to embedded. I added a location with an address that is definitely found in maps, word for word. And still on the locations page it says “Map unavailable”. I checked the network activity log and not a single request is even sent to google.com or maps.google.com or any other google domain. The location edit page in the admin area loads the google maps js libraries but no other request is made to query the supplied location; it just displays “Location not found”.

    Oh, I figured it out: I hadn’t set up billing in my Google account, so the requests with this API key were being rejected.
