I’ve been loading up a directory site for the last few days, it has thousands of pages.
During the first day of uploading I had some problems so I de-activated all plugins until the uploading was finished… today the uploading completed so I went into my admin panel and started activating the plugins.
I activated the WP database backup plugin and tried to do a backup of the site… when I hit “backup now” the page started loading but then went to a blank white page, I could hit the back arrow and return to the previous page but when I tried to click to another operation I just got the blank white page again.
Not being able to do anything in admin, I went to my Cpanel and File Manager… I started removing the plugins and re-tried to login to admin, but then my usual admin URL resulted in the blank white page.

I had a similar problem about a year ago and one of the moderators here referred me to https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL
so I tried the suggested remedies on that page… the functions.php fix didn’t work, so I tried the wp-config… fix and this brings up a 404 error page that looks like my home page but without formatting.

But I still have no access to my admin… any help that anyone could offer would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Thanks for that James… I don’t know how but somehow I managed to get back in!
