    Hi all,

I cant get push notifications to work on my app.
I used WPHC to build an iOS and Android app. The push notifications work fine on Android and followed this guide: https://www.delitestudio.com/wordpress/push-notifications-for-wordpress/configuring-ios-push-notifications/
To configure iOS push notifications. My device is visible in the plugin but always get the error:

ERROR: Unable to connect to ‘tls://gateway.push.apple.com:2195’: Connection timed out (110)
    1 maart 2016 20:31
Unable to connect to ‘tls://gateway.sandbox.push.apple.com:2195’: Connection timed out (110)
    1 maart 2016 20:30
ERROR: Unable to connect to ‘tls://gateway.sandbox.push.apple.com:2195’: Connection timed out (110)
    1 maart 2016 20:30
    INFO: Trying tls://gateway.push.apple.com:2195…
    1 maart 2016 20:30
    INFO: Retry to connect (2/3)…

I tried with or without sandbox but nothing works. I also read all documentation from WPHC to get push notifications working and talked to the developer from WPHC but he cant help me out.

Do you maybe have any fix for my issue?

Hello, you can find all the info in the FAQs.

Why am I getting the errors Unable to connect to tls://gateway.sandbox.push.apple.com:2195 or Unable to connect to tsl://gateway.push.apple.com:2195?

Your server is unable to connect to the push service.
    This can be caused by:

    • The SSL certificate you are using, which is invalid or it has expired (remember that a certificate is valid for 1 year).
    • The certificate password you specified, which is not correct.
    • The fact that you are using a production certificate instead of a development one (or vice versa).
    • The fact that Push Notifications for WordPress can’t receive inbound and outbound TCP packets over ports 2195 and 2196.

    Hope it helps!

    I have seen the FAQ.

    – My SSL certificate is valid as I seen in the member center.
    – Password is 100% right.
    – I am running the app from Xcode, so do I need to set everything to developement? (I think that I am doing things wrong here, how to debug this??, Do I need a production provisioning profile for running via Xcode? Or do I need a development provisioning profile? And do I need to run the certificate in Sandbox mode or without sandbox mode?) Maybe you can share screenshots with me from your apple member center?
    – How to test this?

Hope you can help me out because I am struggling a long time with this, and hoped that the new documentation helped me out.

    Good.

Please keep in mind that you need a real device to test push notifications (a simulator cannot receive them).

As we cannot provide one to one support for the free version of the plugin we suggest you to upgrade to Push Notifications for WordPress to have better support.

Ok, I will use a real iPad for push notifications. When I open the app I see got the popup that the app can send me push notifications and the iPad is also visible at the token page in the WP plugin.

Any idea what my issue might be?
