can't get it to work

Hello – I’ve tried for days to get this to work and I’m probably missing something simple. Would appreciate some help.

I’ve chosen the informal (DU) version in woo commerce and that works; however, emails sent to customers and other random strings used during checkout (for example paypal description) are in english. I’ve tried disabling plugins one by one and that’s not making a difference.

I’m using WPML so is that causing a conflict? There are double entries in WMPL. Please let me know if I should be asking them about this problem instead.
